At the March 12th board meeting, Dr. Dale Marsden was selected by the board of trustees to be the next superintendent of the Victor Elementary School District. Dr. Marsden is currently the director of quality and development for the Victor Elementary School District. He has been employed by the district for 14 years, formerly as a classroom teacher, and principal of Village School.
Dr. Kegham Tashjian, from the San Bernardino County Schools Office, conducted the search and stated “This is the best field of applicants I’ve seen in years.” The position was advertised nationally, over twenty people inquired about the position, and the board interviewed four finalists. Board President Dr. Gabriel Stine stated, “We had an outstanding field of applicants from which to select. Dr. Marsden can be proud that he came out on top of this national search. The vote, to select Dale, was unanimous.”
Dr. Marsden stated, “I am thrilled that I was selected from such a strong group of applicants, and that I can continue the quality work of our district.” As a former principal, his school was honored with the California Distinguished School Award in 2004. As the director of quality and development, Dr. Marsden coordinated the process that earned the district’s California State Prospector Award in 2006 and the Eureka Award for Performance Excellence in 2007. He is also a current member of the Victorville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Salvation Army Board of Directors. Dr. Marsden earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy, from Pepperdine University, California.
The current superintendent, Dr. Ralph Baker stated, “We wanted to find someone who would take our district to the next level of performance excellence, and we found that person in Dale. He will be an exceptional leader for our district as well as for our community.”
